Books on Deck!!

Tomorrow I’m leaving for a cruise and of course I’m bringing some books with me so I can have them on deck.

Isn’t that a perfect setting? Sun, cold drink, iPod, and a great book?

The books that I’m bringing with me, as in the ones not on my Kindle include:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke

Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I’m going to try and post during the cruise but internet can be kind of expensive, but I will continue to read!!

Read for a reason

Recently I was talking to my girlfriends and I had a crazy idea for us to share. I told them not to judge me and to just think about it for a second.

I suggested that we start a BOOK CLUB! To my surprise I got quick positive responses. They were actually really excited to read something all together and something good. It also gives us a reason to get together and have fun with each other.

We’ll take turns choosing books and try to get together every 3 weeks or so hopefully having finished the book.

This first book we’re going to read is Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot! A Heather Wells Mystery

Meg Cabot has always been on of my favorite authors starting with the Princess Diaries series, I’m not quite sure if I ever finished that series, but it’s on my to do list.

I think this is a great book for us to read because being a group of girls we get caught up in sizes and what is the right size or not. It’s also a murder mystery, so that will provide a ton of excitement. To know more about Meg Cabot you can either follow her on Twitter at @megcabot and she has a website http://www.megcabot.com

Reason why….

The overall reason I decided to start this blog is because reading is something I love to do and I feel like if someone else is willing to recommend books to you, you might read them.

My plans are to try and update this blog as I read books or as I have thoughts to read books. Of course I’m always open to suggestions because I want to read new things as well.

In this day and age few people in my generation enjoy reading, I think it’s because we’re forced to read so many books in school that we never have time to just find a book that we would like to read, and we’re never asked what we would like to read for any type of assignment at school.

I’m not the best at writing, so please ignore grammatical errors or spelling mistakes hahaha but hopefully I will continue to keep you entertained with a wide variety of easy to read teenage books.

My Mysterious New Thing

My new thing lately has been murder mysteries.

This past semester for my senior English elective I decided to take mystery fiction, and ever since then I have been loving the thrill of reading as a mystery unfolds with its twists and turns. The unsuspecting killers and the crazy plot twists.

That is the reason I started reading Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke. I was looking through books one day at Barnes and Nobles and saw a brightly covered book with a chocolate chip cookie on it. What you will find is that I not only love reading, but I love food too, especially baked goods. I saw it, it was a reasonable price, so I had to have it. Ever since then I have been reading it.

I’m about to start a new murder mystery called Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday and it already sounds like it’s going to be amazing!
