New Experiences

I found out something about myself I never thought I would experience. I blame it all on my boyfriend.

I thoroughly enjoy shooting. I don’t mean shooting photos, shooting the breeze, I mean shooting guns.
Guns have always been scary, and they should be scary. They are very dangerous if you don’t know how to use them, and can easily hurt or kill someone in the wrong hands. Also as an African-American female I’ve always had some hesitations to having a gun. Something about being black and guns just don’t go together, even if done through the proper legal channels.
Anyway my boyfriend likes to shoot. He likes to go to the indoor and outdoor ranges and he likes to go to some competitions. Let’s just say I’m not the only thing that turns him on.
With him I’ve gotten to experience different types of firearms, and to understand what it means to conceal carry. Now, I haven’t made the leap to owning a gun or concealed carrying though it might be an option in the future. We’ll see! Until next time

  1. Raise the pistol up, until the sights are in your natural vision field with your head held normal. Rear sight and front sight, keep everything level when you see the top of the sights, then simply line the center with the rear sights. It might be helpful if your legs are in a boxer stance. Then try a turret (horseback) stance. See which you like as leg pressure and slightly bent knees will help, provided that you raise your arms and bring the pistol sights up, up, up, into your natural field of vision.

Enjoy. Be safe. Remember: ALL FIREARMS ARE ALWAYS TO BE TREATED AS IF LOADED. IT IS THE “EMPTY” FIREARM THAT ACCIDENTLY KILLS. Be careful. Good Luck.

      1. You’re welcome. Be careful. Learn. It is always good to know safe handling of firearms, and also very good to gain skill, while having fun. Best of Luck; Enjoy.

  2. Firearm safety is the first and most important thing about owning and using firearms. It’s awesome you have a knowledgeable boyfriend who can help and mentor you properly.

It’s definitely a vital skill, even if just to learn gun safety. I’m truly excited that you got this new experience.
