Becoming More!

     As I spend countless time on the internet clicking from on blog to the next, from one youtube video to the next, I constantly ask myself why don’t I do more. Yes I love books, and I can’t get enough of them, but there’s so much more that I love. Like my obsession with bags, purses, and wallets, and other things that are girly. I love when people talk about what it’s like to be in college, but everyone has a different perspective.
    I watch people’s youtube videos and wonder how they make their videos so smooth, and insert pictures here, and speed up other parts there. I ask myself I can learn how to do that, and incorporate that some more. I started doing video blogging, but I let it fall off, as I became self conscious, and also never had a clean enough room to actually record myself in haha.
    I’m going on vacation and want to tell people what that’s like and make my own videos on the things I use and how I pack because I have yet to find the exact situation that I’m going to be in.
     I know there’s so much more I can do with this blog that I plan on trying to do. No more full time school, now just full time to work (Paramedic life woot!). That’s an experience all on its own, and I can’t wait to share more. Look out for some changes to my blog! Until next time,

The Venetian Betrayal, Steve Berry

Alexander the Great, Venice, power, science, and dominance. All these things are incorporated in the next part of Cotton Malone’s adventures. In The Venetian Betrayal by Steve Berry Malone finds himself once again in a world changing adventure with the usual suspects, Cassiopea Vitt and Henrik Thorvaldsen.  Once again Malone finds himself in a mystery that it seems only he can solve. Unlike the last novel by Berry, it is not Malone who is actually in jeopardy or with a task set out before him. This time it is Ms. Vitt who needs the help, but is reluctant to ask for it. Through many twists and turns this novel came to some crazy conclusions, and of fuse once again changed the world forever! If only some of these outcomes were true.

I still love Steve Berry, and will continue to plow through his novels, but some of the ridiculousness is crazy! I love the twists and turns and the anticipation and everything that is involved with the Cotton Malone series, but sometimes the fact that they get everything with just a phone call is a little off setting. It’s almost like they’re not really working for anything, and just buying it. I mean Malone is the only one who really does any of the brain work. Of course I still managed to get stuck reading through all the pages so fast because I couldn’t put it down! If you like Dan Brown you will like Steve Berry. Until next time,

The Alexandria Link, Steve Berry

alexandria linkSteve Berry has done it again. He has continued to push the boundaries of my mind and made me question what I know. Cotton Malone is back in his book shop after having helped to find the Knights of Templar in Steve Berry’s other novel, The Templar Legacy. This time though, it’s personal. His ex-wife suddenly appears at his door in the middle of the night, she still lives in Georgia, and she tells him that his son has been kidnapped. What Cotton finds out from her is that it all has something to do with the confidential file of, The Alexandria Link. With this file coming up again, a secret operative only Cotton knew about. One thing that is known about The Alexandria Link, is that it somehow has ties to infamous Library of Alexandria, a vast wealth of knowledge that comes unparalleled to anything that we have today, and is sought out by anyone who is true search of knowledge.

Malone and his ex-wife are forced to go on a world wide trip to find the truth, and to save their son.
The Alexandria Link by Steve Berry is an amazing thriller. I love books that get started right off the bat with something that makes you want to turn the page. I love Steve Berry books and have read others that are not on this blog like, The Templar Legacy, The Third Secret, and The Romanov Prophecy. The Romanov Prophecy is probably my favorite right now because I love Anastasia, and the Romanovs, and then The Templar Legacy follows suit because it reminds me of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, both books I love tremendously. Destined (House of Night Book 9), P.C. and Kristin Cast

Honestly, I’m not going to even give a summary of this book. It is the exact same thing as the rest of them. Zoey has some problems, the Nerd Herd and the Warriors go to fix it. The interesting parts are Lenobia’s semi love story, and the cleansing ritual that has to be done on her Grandmother’s land.

Nothing has changed about the story line, and we’re 9 books in. I used to give this series so much praise, but they’re really short, super easy to read, and I’m reading the same thing. There has not been a plot twist since they got back to school. I’m looking for a lot more, and I’ll read the next one when I don’t know what else to read. Until next time,

The Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling

Two small areas, one slightly larger town, and a whole lot of families. The Casual Vacancy is about a small town who suddenly finds themselves with what is known as a “Casual Vacancy” when someone is unexpectedly removed from a position on the Parish Council. In this case it was Barry Fairbrother, who unknowingly touched so many lives in Pagford during his time on Earth. Without him there seems to be a shift in balance, and people start to act all types of crazy and begin fighting with everyone. As usual I’m not going to spoil the ending, but get ready for it. It was probably the best and worst part.

There’s a lot going on in this book. This was not my favorite, and it took me awhile to get through it. Of course it was nothing like Harry Potter, and it was not supposed to be, but I felt like something was lacking. There were a lot of character names, but none of them were very memorable and it was difficult to keep some of them straight in your head. There was a lot of bickering to no avail with anyone. It starts off with an unexpected death, but then I personally felt like it did not grow from there. I don’t know… the book just did not grasp me the way Harry Potter did, or the way other fictional books did. If you’re a JK Rowling fan of course you have to add this book to you library, and I’m probably going to be shamed by what I said. I’m going to read The Cuckoo’s Calling next and we’ll see how I feel about that. Until next time,
