Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday

This book is the perfect murder mystery for girls. There’s fashion, there’s murder, there’s romance there is everything that you can possibly ask for in Gemma Halliday’s Spying in High Heels.
I took this with me on my cruise on my kindle and I could not put it down. The book immediately gets going and you want to know what the main klutzy character, Maddie, does when trying to solve a murder by herself. Of course the police was involved, but she figured that she was better than the police and could do it herself, sometimes getting herself into more trouble than was worth, but hey she found herself a hot cop… who could ask for anything else? Did I mention her stuck in the ‘80s mom and her could possibly be gay step-dad, and a real dad who ran out on her with a show girl? Yes this book has a lot more than just a mystery, but the mystery is good too.
This might seem like a short review but I don’t want to give anything away in this book. This mystery has twists and turns throwing the reader a surprise. It also reminds girls that it’s okay to look cute and still be able to do amazing things and snag a hot guy as well.
As soon as I finished reading it I got on my laptop and bought the next one so I could continue reading this wonderful series. Seeing a trend here? My thing right now is definitely mysteries.
I highly highly highly recommend this book because it was just that good. If you have a kindle, get it on the kindle if you’re not sure because it is very cheap, but like I said I got the next one immediately after I was finished.

Enchanted Inc. by Shanna Swendson

When you walk around do you see strange things that you can’t explain? Well that’s exactly what happens to the main character in Shanna Swendson’s amazing novel Enchanted Inc.
A small town girl, Katie, leaves Texas to change her life in New York. Things are already strange in some parts of New York, but people with wings floating a little above the ground, moving gargoyles, and trains that seem to come on demand? Even that’s a little bit strange for New York.
When Katie finds out that there’s magic everything makes a little bit more sense, but how does no body else see what she sees?
In Shanna Swendson’s first novel of the series the world of magic and business comes alive in Katie’s small town world. There’s a little bit mystery, a little bit of romance, and all in all a little bit of someone trying to find his or her place in the world.
I read this novel so fast, and then quickly bought the second because it was that good. The way magic is portrayed in our every day world instead of somewhere hidden makes it seem like magic does and can exist. It also helps me to believe that there is a perfect place for everyone to be and enjoy. Of course I highly recommend this book and the rest that come after!

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

Devil worship, secrets of the Washington DC, and the ultimate word! Dan Brown has once again made his book something you will never forget. In The Lost Symbol Dan Brown opens your eyes to see what secrets make up the nation’s capitol. The book includes murder, history, thrill, suspense, and so many other emotions.
The novel is amazing! It had me on the computer googling what I was reading just so I could see the artwork he added in his novel and get visuals on everything. I never wanted to put the book down even when I was extremely scared. I’m pretty sure if I lived in Washington DC I would see everything in a whole new light.
By the end of the novel I once again had the same eye opening feeling that I did at the end of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, the feeling that everything that I know is basically the product of unremembered history. When reading the novel I just really have to suggest that you keep an open mind and don’t throw out any ideas before you finish the wonderful piece of work.

Along For the Ride by Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen has done it again with her newest book Along for the Ride! In the novel a teenage girl has recently graduated from high school finally realizing that during her school years she spend most of her time studying than trying to hold on to every high school moment. After her parents were divorced when she was younger, she spent most of her nights staying up and listening to her parents argue, or sneaking out with her school books to the local diner, or just staying awake studying, during that time she started to develop insomnia. Little did she know that having insomnia would soon lead her to finding the perfect boy for her.
When she heard that her father was having another child with his new wife she decided, much to her mother’s dismay, to spend the summer with her dad and stepmother at the beach.
Moving to the small town made her realize that she had missed a lot in the “girl” world having best friends to be with her through out family troubles and boy troubles. In her time at the beach she develops strong friendships, and even finds romance and someone to share her night time adventures with. In that romance he takes it upon himself to make her experience every normal kid thing that she never got to experience. Not only did it help her, but it also helped him to start living again after a tragic death to his best friend.
In the end the novel gives you the feeling to not take your friends for granted, to go out and find someone special just for you, and to accept your family for who they are.  During the novel you will find yourself crying, laughing, understanding, and feeling complete when the novel ends.
Sarah Dessen has always been one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait for her next novel to come out! I have no idea when that will be though :(.
