First Homecoming!

image
I just graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in the spring, and I cannot believe that it is already time for me to go back for Homecoming! I cannot wait to see my Pitt family that I spent an incredible four years with. There’s something about going to back to a place you called home for so long. You want to see what has changed, what has stayed the same. You want to visit all of the places that you spent so much time at. Of course some of the biggest experiences come from the people that you spent the time with, and that is what I cannot wait for. Being from the south, not too many of us choose to go up north for school, so there’s not that many people at home who know Pitt traditions. Luckily, I talk to people pretty regularly from school, so I’m never too Pittsick… is that a thing? I’m making it a thing. If there’s one thing I learned while at school was how to be proud of my school. I spent years being part of Alumni organizations that help to keep people together, and I knew after I graduated I wanted to make sure I stayed connected. I love going to Atlanta Pitt Club events, so I can meet other Atlanta alumni to sing Sweet Caroline with. Also being involved in Greek life at Pitt (shout to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.), I talk to my line sisters all the time as well as other members of Pitt NPHC. Being able to see all of them face to face again is what is going to make all of the difference. Did I mention we’re playing Georgia Tech for homecoming?! It’s like a double home game for me! Also don’t forget about teachers! I was in a program where I had very few teachers, which meant they knew all of us, and I spent two stress-filled, amazing years, I know does that make any sense? I have to make sure I visit my teachers to let them know that I’m doing great, and they helped me out a lot.
I would say if you get a chance to go to your homecoming, GO! Save up the money take the time, to revisit a place that helped to shape who you are today. Without the University of Pittsburgh I wouldn’t be a paramedic, wouldn’t be a member of Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, and I wouldn’t know the feeling of having traditions that matter. Oh, and I wouldn’t have a reason to do the Pitt rendition of Sweet Caroline whenever it comes on. Here’s to homecoming! HAIL TO PITT!!! Until next time,

Dagne Dover Tote

To follow up on my review of the Dagne Dover Clutch Wallet it is now time to talk about the beautiful Dagne Dover Tote bag. If you haven’t noticed I absolutely love bags and this one is no exception! It is mostly described as a bag to keep everything organized with none of the clutter. Now I always manage to clutter something up and make a mess, but it always starts out pretty! The tote has some great features that do help those who can stay organized. It has a sleeve for a laptop, which can fit a 15″ laptop, and fits my 13″ MacBook pro in it beautifully. It also has a smaller sleeve, or division for a tablet. Now I have not been able to slide my surface in there, but I do believe an iPad fits nicely, and definitely an iPad mini, or even some file folders fit in these sleeves quite well. There’s also another divider that you can slide your clutch wallet into so that it is easy to go from big bag to small bag without loosing anything. In the large compartment there is this wonderful cup holder! That’s right a CUP HOLDER!! I love being able to putt my Pitt (Hail to Pitt)  tumbler in there and not worry about it falling over or spilling! Also the material that the bag is made up of is easy to clean up, and is weather resistant, so you don’t have to worry about those inevitable spills or rain ruining your stuff inside of your bag. Below you can see some pictures of the bag, and I how I use it for school and travel!

Here you can see what it can hold for school! I’ve got two binders, my Surface 2 tablet in the sleeve, my Erin Condren Life Planner, and not pictured often in there is my Pitt tumbler!

I absolutely love the Dagne blue color!

I’m hoping one day the Dagne Dover team makes an appearance in Atlanta, so that I can be there for all of the excitement. This newer company is amazing and their customer service is even better. When I was worried about my bags not shipping, I was able to send them an email about it and they got back to me in a timely fashion.

National Handbag Day! Dagne Dover Clutch

In honor of National Handbag Day it was obviously time for me to do my review of my new wonderful Dagne Dover bags!! I have been using them for a few weeks now and I absolutely love them. For this review I’m going to start with the clutch.

I was really excited about this clutch because it comes with both a long strap and a short strap that are interchangeable. Also the wallet part comes in and out via magnets, which makes it easy for me to transfer my wallet into any bag or pocket. I love the quality of the clutch and the fact that it is weather resistant and easy to clean so that I can’t ruin it!

The only thing that I don’t like is the zipper because it’s difficult to sometimes zip it back closed, but on the other hand I love how it lays flat. So, this feature kind of leads it to be a double edged sword. I’ll show you some pictures on how I use the clutch, and all of its features!!

I was so excited when I received my clutch!! It came with a thank you card and was packaged really well.

You can see the hidden pocket in this view

I like how large the zipper is and how sturdy it is. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to break.

Here you can see what is in my clutch. I keep the wallet in there unless I’m at work, and then it is easy to take out and put in my pocket. You can also see one of my favorite lip glosses by Sephora. It is their new matte lip gloss.

In the secret pocket my iPhone 5 with the LifeProof case does fit in there and it still closes.

I really like the clutch! I like that it can go from day to night with ease and by having the blue one I can actually wear it with whatever I have on. I love the Dagne blue color because it is bright and it stand out. I get tons of compliments on this clutch. I highly recommend this new and upcoming brand. It is kind of pricy, as it pushes somewhere around $150, and that can be out of a lot of people’s budgets for just a clutch. I treated myself to this clutch after pining after it all summer. Check them out online!!
