Countdown to 2017!

new-years-eve-2016
It’s officially New Year’s Eve!! The time of the year where we reflect on the year behind us and look forward to the year before us. When I look back on 2016 I don’t like everything that I see. I lost myself in 2016 and in 2017 I would like to find myself again. During the year I found myself getting discouraged about school, trying to take care of everyone else, and not taking care of my health. I let my grades drop and allowed my weight to rise. I had more anxiety this year than I ever have had. I lost the love of my life, my dog, Justin.
Of course there were good things I went on vacation with the most unique extended family ever. I went with my boyfriend for his first ever vacation! I got a new car and got a new dog, Barrett. I attempted to make more meaningful friendships, but found myself stressing about pleasing everyone. I tried many new things and found new things that I would like to try.
In 2017 I would like to get back to knowing me and loving me. Yes that does include wanting to lose weight, and continue the mantra “new year, new me”, but I do truly feel like I lost myself 2016. I want to read more, explore new things, and find out who I am again. Basically, I’m going to be selfish. I still plan on loving my family, my dog, and my boyfriend, and will try to give them what they need at a reasonable expense to myself. In 2017 I would like to be unequivocally happy in everything that I do. What are some of your resolutions for the new year? Until next time,

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
We all have so much to be thankful for. I know that I do. I’m thankful for my family, my boyfriend, my friends, my dog. I’m thankful for my health, my job, and waking up in the morning. I’m also thankful for books and being able to read. These are only a few things that I am thankful for in a long list of things to be thankful for. It’s very easy to get tied up in the things that we don’t have, and not remember the good that we do have. I know I often times dwell on that one insignificant thing that made me mad, sad, or annoyed and missed out on the rest of the good around me. Take this time to share something new with your friends or family and to remember everything that you are thankful for. In my Etsy Shop, I will be having a 20% off sale with the code THANKFUL please feel free to look around. Have a fantastic holiday and until next time,

Wanderlust: Pisa

Our next stop on our Italian adventure was visiting Pisa! I’m not going to lie, seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa has been on my bucket list for sometime. Seeing it in person was very different than what I ever could have imagined. Believing that hey, maybe the ground is on a slant, or maybe the foundation gave way. There was every intention of the building being straight, but somewhere the building became tilted. The Leaning Tower is actually a Bell Tower in the Piazza dei Miracoli that goes with the Duomo di Pisa in the plaza and two other buildings.
We had a fun time exploring the Plaza of Miracles, and of course we had to get pizza in Pisa. Check out our pictures below!

A view of the plaza!

We tried so many times to get the iconic picture of “pushing” the tower back straight. Let’s just say someone didn’t understand the concept….

Is Pisa a place that is on your bucket list? Until next time,

Pumpkin Patch!!

The feelings of fall are truly starting to reach Georgia these days and so my boyfriend and I went to our local pumpkin patch hosted by the Boy Scouts of America!
We had a blast picking out our pumpkins and of course with our busy schedules I was wearing my Busy Band as well, which can be found here!

Here are some of the pictures from that day!

Of course I had to get some magnificent fall shots of my Busy Bands. More pictures can be found on my Instagram page at @90sbornreader or on my Etsy Shop

(He’s very good at holding things for me :D)

My trusted B-Hobo Kelly Moore bag of course came with us. I’ve traveled everywhere with this bag. It always holds everything I need from camera gear to water bottles to maps. You can see my original post on my blog here!

We had a fantastic time spending the afternoon going through all the pumpkins to find the perfect two because of course we can’t share one hahahahahahaha. Until next time,
