Wanderlust: Rapallo

After our stop in Milan the next part of our tour with Traveling Together took us to Rapallo Italy, which is a seaside town. When we were there they were preparing for a race, and had some of the streets blocked off. We used this as a quick stop for food, and sight seeing as we made our way to La Spezia.
Here are some of our pictures from the few hours we had there.

It was a cloudy date when we went, but we still enjoyed seeing the small town. Until Next Time,

Wanderlust: Milan, Italy

The fashion capitol of Italy! Milano! We had a very short time in Milano, but we were able to take in the major sights in the day that my mom and I had there. Check out some of our pictures below!!

I did not actually like Milan that much. It reminded me of any major city in the United States, and I felt like I was missing where the fashion was because it did not look like a fashion capitol. I don’t know what I was expecting, but what I saw just wasn’t it. Don’t get me wrong the city was beautiful, and my mom and I enjoyed being on the walking tour that took up most of the day. It allowed us to see all of the major landmarks in the short amount of time we had.

The Teatro Alla Scala was absolutely beautiful. I can only imagine seeing an opera performed on that stage.
tiramisu milan
It doesn’t look like much, but this was actually my favorite tiramisu of the whole trip. Who would have thought my favorite would been on the first stop?
I guess I can’t say nothing good happened in Milan. It will always have a special place in my heart because it is the city my boyfriend sent flowers to to surprise me! Let’s just say we’re still dating lol

I recommend everyone to travel. If you can find a way to make it happen, make it happen. If you have to work your butt off for a couple of months to take off a couple of days to see something new, do it! Visit Milan for yourself, take in the sights, and spend more time there. I really wanted to be able to explore, but the trip didn’t allow it. Have fun, get lost, but still take a map so you can get back. Until next time,

The Lincoln Myth (Cotton Malone #9), Steve Berry

lincoln mythWhat does Abraham Lincoln and the Mormon Church have in common? Who knows, but we do know that if it is a matter of national security, and can change the world as we know it, Cotton Malone will be the one to figure it out. In The Lincoln Myth by Steve Berry, Cotton Malone has once again been called to do a favor for his former boss, Stephanie Nell. What seemed like a simple of task of meeting an agent somewhere turned into a shoot out in the middle of the river. With agents missing and lives on the line, Malone is back to helping Stephanie Nelle and the President of the United States. Cassiopeia finds herself in on the same mission, which Malone knows nothing about, but has the job of getting back into the life of an old friend. It is during these separate but equal missions, relationships and friendships will be tested. There will be a question of what side to stand on, and if the appropriate actions were taken.
I have said it time and time again, I love Steve Berry novels. No matter what the subject matter, I find myself not being able to put them down. This makes you think of the civil war and all previous presidents in a different  light. You learn more about President Daniels than you ever have before, and you come to understand what it is like to be between a rock and a hard place. I highly recommend anyone to read this book, but if you haven’t started the series I would start from the beginning. Until next time,

New Experiences

I found out something about myself I never thought I would experience. I blame it all on my boyfriend.

I thoroughly enjoy shooting. I don’t mean shooting photos, shooting the breeze, I mean shooting guns.
Guns have always been scary, and they should be scary. They are very dangerous if you don’t know how to use them, and can easily hurt or kill someone in the wrong hands. Also as an African-American female I’ve always had some hesitations to having a gun. Something about being black and guns just don’t go together, even if done through the proper legal channels.
Anyway my boyfriend likes to shoot. He likes to go to the indoor and outdoor ranges and he likes to go to some competitions. Let’s just say I’m not the only thing that turns him on.
With him I’ve gotten to experience different types of firearms, and to understand what it means to conceal carry. Now, I haven’t made the leap to owning a gun or concealed carrying though it might be an option in the future. We’ll see! Until next time

I really enjoyed reading the first book of this series. It was very similar to Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. I think I might have even enjoyed it more for the sheer fact that there was more action involved in the story. The romance began to simmer during the story, but it wasn’t prominent in the story. I’m going to continue reading this series to see what happens next. Until next time,
