Fangirl, Rainbow Rowell

fangirlCath is a girl who doesn’t necessarily like change. She has a hard time being amongst others in the real world, but what most don’t know is that she is completely unstoppable in the Fanfiction that she loves to write. For her fans she has kept going one of the most read book series of their time alive. With thousands of fans she found a place that is hers. While her first year at college everything is out place, her twin sister doesn’t want to be around her anymore, and is finding new friends, she doesn’t know how to be with her roommate, and her roommate’s boyfriend.
Oddly, I was surprised by this novel. I thought it was going to be so corny, I mean a girl who rights Fanfiction, mixed with a love story? It was not that at all. It was beautifully woven into something that talked about change, growing up, becoming more than we are, and learning what it is like to let others love you as well. I highly recommend reading Fangirl. Until next time,

Fifty Shades of Grey, E.L. James

fifty shades of greyWho knew stumbling into an office building to fill in for an interview for a friend would help you find the love of your life. Well, Anastasia had no idea what was in store for her the first day that she met Christian Grey, all she knew was that there was an electric charge between the two of them. What Anastasia, Ana, finds herself in is a world she did not know even existed. A world filled with mind numbing sex, and heart wrenching love. A world where her strengths were put to the test in more ways than she could imagine. Christian finds out that being a one of the richest guys on the planet, does not mean you have everything that you need. So much more happens in this trilogy than just the stomach turning sex.
Mmmmmmmmmmm. That’s all you can say after reading the first one. I did not know what to think about these books. I’ve heard so much about them, and have always meant to read them but never got around to it. Well I finally did and read all 3 in 5 days! They were so good and so addicting!! Of course I also had to finish the first one by the time the movie comes out this weekend! Luckily I finished it a week ahead of time. If you have not sat down to read them because of all of the “kinky fuckery” that is in the book, you’re missing out on the story behind the sex as well. Until next time,

First Apartment!

I am taking another big step into adulthood! I’ve got my first real apartment!
image
I’m not talking about your college apartment that was a two bedroom, that you shared with four people, in the middle of your college town, not actually knowing your landlord, and being okay with the peeling paint on the walls.
I’m talking about, completely empty, no furniture, no groceries, no nothing. A blank canvas, or a blank space. (Anyone else have Taylor Swift go through their heads?!)
All of the blog posts that show you an apartment that seems to be built in a day are just a lie. Or they’re really rich. As someone who just got a big girl job, and moved out faster than she thought. I’ll show you what it’s like to actually have to plan, wait, and save for your apartment.  I hope you have fun following me on my journey! Until next time,

Growing Up!

You know growing up is hard to do these days. When a college degree gets you basically the same thing as high school degree used to get you, our generation is not coming out of school with the same next steps as our parents used to.
Our parents used to graduate college, get a job, and move out of the house. Now we graduate college, still probably need to find an internship to get our foot in the door, move back home, and try and plan our next steps. Yes you will always hear of the few who get the job offer out of college and are moving out without a thought, but that is not most of us.
I was a semi lucky one. I did not graduate college with a job, but after about a month and a half I lucked up on one while being in the right place at the right time. I.e. I was doing some work for free, and someone noticed and offered to at least pull my application.
Now after 6 months of working and 9 months at home I have finally decided to move out of my mom’s house. The thoughts are scary though.
Am I doing the right thing? Will I have enough money to live on my own? Am I ready to be by myself? Will I get lonely? As I start to plan my apartment and being by myself, all of these thoughts go through my head, but it’s time to take the next step.
Do you ever have any fears of growing up? Until next time,

May Books by May Designs!

During my original search for a planner I stumbled on the May Designs website, but they didn’t have the planner I was really looking for, which is how I got the Erin Condren Life Planner.

As I stumbled on them again, and again I figured it was time for me to get them. I mean they’re not that expensive, they range from $14-$22, and are customizable. Who can beat that price for something you get to make your own?!?!
So, when I got an email saying that they were doing 40% certain style I decided it was time. For my first MayBook I went with the budget planner. I like the size of the MayBooks because I feel like I can slide this budget planner in my LP and it’s not going to cause any problems, and that helps, so I always know how my money is. Also the cover is water resistant, so as long as it is closed your May Book should be okay against light spills. Now the budget planner is broken down so that each month you can write in your expenses, regular, and spur of the moment ones, and help to keep track of your budget.
Right now I’m not sure how to use it for its full potential, but when I move into my apartment in January, I’m pretty sure I’ll be using it a lot more.
Then May Designs was on Oprah’s favorite things! Who doesn’t want to be like Oprah! They were 40% off all over again, so this time I got two!! I got the planner version for 2015, and also a food intake/exercise journal.
Here you can see how I customized mine, and about what size they are.

You can see that it is about the same size as my iPad mini, and almost as thin as well.
The way the planer is set out kind of surprised me. It is a month and week base, but instead of the weeks following each month, it goes all of the months, and then all the weeks after it. Just a little different for me, but it is so cute!

The food/exercise journal is different too because I normal put things in MyFitnessPal, and that helps to tell me the calories, while this will only remind of the food I eat, and what exercises I do….if any…

The budget planner is designed month by month, and you go through and write in all of your expenses and savings to help you keep track of how much money you have.

During 2015 I’m going to try and use all of these more. There are so many new things happening for me in 2015 that I think all of these will come in handy. Did I mention they’re personalized..?!?! Until next time
