Just when you think things won’t get any worse of course they do. Tris, Four, Caleb, Peter, and Marcus are able to make it out of Dauntless and Abnegation. With the leaders of Abnegation now dead, and the Dauntless brainwashed to kill others on command the safest place for them to go is Amity. Of course instead of things getting better Amity is now attacked in order to find the remaining members of Abnegation. The group barely makes it out of there, and on to an oncoming train, which reveals members of the Factionless including some old acquaintances, and some surprises as well. It turns out the Factionless aren’t as down trodden as people like to assume, and they have been making plans for this moment as well. The Divergents are being discovered and slowly being taken out and questioned in order to make a more potent serum.

With the factions becoming more torn apart, and no longer working together chaos is starting to ensue, and questions aren’t getting answer. Tris has had to make some difficult decisions including working with people she wouldn’t normally work with and those actions are starting to change her attitude towards life.
I know that my summary of this book isn’t even doing it justice. Just like Divergent I read this in about 4-5 hours, and loved every minute of it. There are so many twists and turns, and you get to dive into the characters even more. I cannot wait to read Allegiant, and I know I will love that one too. Until next time,

Abnegation, the selfless, Amity, the peaceful, Candor, the honest, Dauntless, the brave, and Erudite, the intelligent. In which one of those factions do you think you’re a part of. What are your core values? Is a test going to tell you which place you are going to spend the rest of your life? Are the results of that test going to give you a clear path? Saying that you should be apart of this faction, or you are best suited for two factions, or even yet best suited for three factions. On decision day are you going to decide to stay with your family in their faction, or are you going to leave them behind and do something new. At the end of the switch to a new life are you going to be factionless?
Beatrice “Triss” Prior is not the only person who decides to leave their family and go somewhere else, but just because it has been done before doesn’t mean that it is accepted. To switch to a polar opposite of what you have grown up as can be difficult. To not know that your life and your abilities can help shape the future is even more difficult.
If you’re looking for another book to go with your Hunger Games addiction this is the one for you!!!!!! I absolutely fell in love with this book. I read it in a day and was ready to buy the next one immediately. I don’t think I can give this book anymore praise than to just say it was amazing! It provided family issues, secrets that come to the surface, and the decision of embarking on your own journey. Can’t wait for a movie hopefully, and the next couple of books! Until next time,

The Moon and More, Sarah Dessen

the moon and moreIn The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen a young girl, Emaline, lives in a beach town where most of their lives revolve around summer. In Colby they get most of their business in the summer when people come to the beach and stay in the houses that Emaline’s family is in charge of. It is Emaline’s summer before her first year of college, and her eyes are about to be opened to things she never thought she would want to do or see. Like not go to the same college as everyone else, find a summer romance in someone who is like no one she has ever seen, and develop a relationship with estranged family members.
Once again Sarah Dessen has written something that is relatable, amazing, and something that people should read. I went out and bought this on the day it came out, went home and read it. (yes I know this post is soooo late) I think this is relatable to any young girl, especially those from small towns. Finding someone who is new and exciting, and learning what it’s like to have an unconventional family. This is something a lot of people know the feeling of. I of course recommend this book and I plan on reading whatever comes out next by Sarah Dessen. Until next time,

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgivingAnother year, another Thanksgiving. A time once again to remember what we are thankful for. More than that of material things, but also for the people around us, and the days that have shaped our lives. I’m always thankful for my family, especially my mom. Without them I would not be where I am today.

I’m also thankful for books, both the electronic and paper kind. Being an only child I was also a reader. Being able to escape to a different world with characters of all kind, have always made the days, and the time pass by with mixed emotions and forcing my creative side to happen.

The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones Movie vs. Book

I’m not going to lie, I was kind of sad after I left the movies. I absolutely loved everyone of these books, which you know if you read my posts, but I was bored by the movie. I think they did some great things like the way the demons looked and the way the institute looked. I especially appreciated that the werewolves truly turned into werewolves and not half men creatures. I wasn’t thrilled with who Magnus Bane was played by because I expected him to be so much more, so much…extra. Instead he was flat, and the only interesting thing he did was called Alec cute. Jace wasn’t cocky enough for me and he didn’t make his voice charismatic enough. I absolutely love Jamie Campbell Bower in Sweeny Todd, and like his performance in that so much more.

I like the way they brought the witch light to life, and how they made the Steeles different for different people.  I also really appreciate that I felt like they stuck to the book really well, and nothing was added, or anything significant was taken out. I like how they made the buildings change when looking past the glamour. They did great when it came to the special effects, and making it all come together.

I waited so long to see this movie, and was so excited for it, and now I can’t say that I’m excited for it at all. I still recommend that you see it of course, but I wouldn’t have high hopes. Am I going to go see the rest of the movies as they come out. Well yeah, of course, and I do believe that they’ll get better as they go. I’m not sure if the movie is still in theaters, It’s probably not, but if it is I recommend you seeing it to support this growing franchise!!
