Fangirl, Rainbow Rowell

fangirlCath is a girl who doesn’t necessarily like change. She has a hard time being amongst others in the real world, but what most don’t know is that she is completely unstoppable in the Fanfiction that she loves to write. For her fans she has kept going one of the most read book series of their time alive. With thousands of fans she found a place that is hers. While her first year at college everything is out place, her twin sister doesn’t want to be around her anymore, and is finding new friends, she doesn’t know how to be with her roommate, and her roommate’s boyfriend.
Oddly, I was surprised by this novel. I thought it was going to be so corny, I mean a girl who rights Fanfiction, mixed with a love story? It was not that at all. It was beautifully woven into something that talked about change, growing up, becoming more than we are, and learning what it is like to let others love you as well. I highly recommend reading Fangirl. Until next time,

Fifty Shades of Grey, E.L. James

fifty shades of greyWho knew stumbling into an office building to fill in for an interview for a friend would help you find the love of your life. Well, Anastasia had no idea what was in store for her the first day that she met Christian Grey, all she knew was that there was an electric charge between the two of them. What Anastasia, Ana, finds herself in is a world she did not know even existed. A world filled with mind numbing sex, and heart wrenching love. A world where her strengths were put to the test in more ways than she could imagine. Christian finds out that being a one of the richest guys on the planet, does not mean you have everything that you need. So much more happens in this trilogy than just the stomach turning sex.
Mmmmmmmmmmm. That’s all you can say after reading the first one. I did not know what to think about these books. I’ve heard so much about them, and have always meant to read them but never got around to it. Well I finally did and read all 3 in 5 days! They were so good and so addicting!! Of course I also had to finish the first one by the time the movie comes out this weekend! Luckily I finished it a week ahead of time. If you have not sat down to read them because of all of the “kinky fuckery” that is in the book, you’re missing out on the story behind the sex as well. Until next time,

The Paris Vendetta, Steve Berry

Paris Vendetta
Cotton Malone and his team are at it again. Someone in the world is threatening the balance of how it works, and of course Cotton finds himself  in the middle of it all. This one though is incredibly personal, and involves a complicated history for Thorvaldsen, Cotton’s best friend. Cotton does not know how deep his vendetta goes in terms of who is all involved and in what aspect. There are a lot of twists and turns, and a deeper history than anyone could imagine, Napoleon’s treasure is only a small part of what is in store.
As usual I loved Steve Berry’s story and I always think he does a great job of making history interesting. Interweaving fact with fiction. This one though did take me a lot longer to read for a lot of different reasons. I was starting a new job, there was school, I read some other things in between just a lot. If you’ve started the Cotton Malone series, just keep going. They keep getting more and more interesting. Until next time,

Merry Christmas to all…!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!! I hope everyone enjoyed their time with loved ones, family, and friends. I hope everyone makes time to tell someone you love that you love them, and care about them, it could be the best present he or she receive.

My family is incredibly small, but we always have a wonderful time being with each other, cooking, eating, and exchanging gifts. Typically for me I always ask for an Amazon gift card for more books, but with me moving to a new apartment, I asked for apartment things, and I got a lot of them. With the way my Christmas break is going I should be finishing a lot more books and I can’t wait to see what I finish before the new year!!

Keep on the look out and Merry Christmas!

Until next time,

Redeemed (Final House of Night Novel), P.C. and Kristin Cast

Redeemed_cover Neferet is back, and it is up to the Tulsa House of Night to stop her for good. Zoey Redbird  finds herself not only battling Neferet, but also the battle of Light and Dark inside her. She has to find a way to calm the storm inside of her before she can truly be the High Priestess she is supposed to be. Meanwhile Neferet has shown Tulsa her true colors and has declared herself a Goddess and Queen Tsi Sigli, and has taken over the Mayo building. With the help of some unlikely people like Kalona and Detective Marx a plan is set in motion to help bring down Neferet. The people of Tulsa are having to trust the vampyres at the TulsaHouse of Night, and actually ask for protection and sanctuary.

I don’t want to give too much away because there is so muchhappening in this final installment of the House of Night series! We continue to find out more about Kalona, and how is past isaffecting his present, and also darkness can easily come about. We see what it is like to take responsibility for actions, evenif those outcomes were not what you had in mind. We see that itis okay to have a support system, and to lean on them, but to also know when to stand on our own two feet. Through Zoey Redbird’s story we learn a lot about love, loss, friendship, and leadership. Only Zoey’s story is not the only one that was introduced through out this series. Kalona’s story is very well put together teaching us how to taken ownership from our mistakes, and how to grow and overcome them, and Neferet’s story shows us how muchour past, and our pain can consume us into something we don’t even recognize. During this series we also learn that there is love, always love. Merry meet, and merry meet aging. Until next time,
