Redeemed_cover Neferet is back, and it is up to the Tulsa House of Night to stop her for good. Zoey Redbird  finds herself not only battling Neferet, but also the battle of Light and Dark inside her. She has to find a way to calm the storm inside of her before she can truly be the High Priestess she is supposed to be. Meanwhile Neferet has shown Tulsa her true colors and has declared herself a Goddess and Queen Tsi Sigli, and has taken over the Mayo building. With the help of some unlikely people like Kalona and Detective Marx a plan is set in motion to help bring down Neferet. The people of Tulsa are having to trust the vampyres at the TulsaHouse of Night, and actually ask for protection and sanctuary.

I don’t want to give too much away because there is so muchhappening in this final installment of the House of Night series! We continue to find out more about Kalona, and how is past isaffecting his present, and also darkness can easily come about. We see what it is like to take responsibility for actions, evenif those outcomes were not what you had in mind. We see that itis okay to have a support system, and to lean on them, but to also know when to stand on our own two feet. Through Zoey Redbird’s story we learn a lot about love, loss, friendship, and leadership. Only Zoey’s story is not the only one that was introduced through out this series. Kalona’s story is very well put together teaching us how to taken ownership from our mistakes, and how to grow and overcome them, and Neferet’s story shows us how muchour past, and our pain can consume us into something we don’t even recognize. During this series we also learn that there is love, always love. Merry meet, and merry meet aging. Until next time,

Revealed (House of Night Novel 11), P.C. and Kristin Cast

revealed cover

Neferet has finally been defeated by Zoey Redbird and her friends with the help of some unlikely friends. Or, so they think. For the time being Neferet is not an immediate threat, but they know she is not gone for good. Grandma Redbird is safe, and the open house at the Tulsa House of Night is really hitting it off. The young priestesses and prophetesses are starting to come into their roles, and see how hard it is to be a leader. Zoey most of all. With a ll of the building frustration and pressures Zoey is starting to lose herself, and her demeanor. With the rise of Old Magik again there are more forces at work than they have ever had to face.

There’s so much happening in this novel, building up to the final one that I don’t want to give anything away! So, sorry for the vague descriptions. I will say that you learn a lot more about Neferet and her past, and once again the struggles of love are evident. I could tell this novel was a build up one, and I appreciated it for that. I cannot wait to read the last one!! Look out for a Give Away!! Also don’t forget to follow me on twitter at @90sbornreader to follow a House of Night tweet-a-thon that is going to be happening soon!! If you haven’t caught up on the rest of the novels do it soon! It’s time for this series to come to a close, but don’t worry the authors have plenty of more for you to read. Until next time,

Hidden (House of Night Novel 10), P.C. and Kristin Cast

Hidden

The true plans of Neferet have been discovered and witnessed through a cleansing and reveal ritual done at Sylvia Redbird’s farm. Thanatos, with the help of Zoey and her friends, have seen the truth, and have a better understanding of what they are dealing with, but no good deed goes unpunished. Because the circle used to see the light could not be broken, warriors were used to protect the circle. Dragon fulfilled his oath to Nyx no matter how far he thought he strayed, and gave his life in order to protect them from the bull, Aurox. After being thwarted Neferet decides that it is time for her to get into league with humans to start bringing chaos. Neferet tries to say that she has left the House of Night in Tulsa, when really the High Council has decided that she is to be excommunicated as a vampire entirely.
During this 10th installment of House of Night, it is up to Zoey, Stevie Ray, Aphrodite, and the new fledgling Shalene to figure out their true powers. To really work on using what gifts Nyx has given them to use them to their full potential. It will be difficult for them to battle Neferet without understanding what each one of them are capable of.
I really enjoyed this one! It has been awhile since I fully enjoyed a House of Night novel because there were some twists that I was not expecting that were refreshing. The fledglings in the novel are coming into their own, even though I still believe that Zoey whines way too much. Also the language in this book is kind of adult for it to be a teen novel. There are a lot of F bombs dropped for them to be in high school. I’m not even sure I talk that bad even though I have a terrible mouth. I still really enjoyed it and I can’t read the next and the last one. Until next time,

Awakened (House of Night Series book 8), P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast

Zoey and Stark are back from the Realm of Nyx and they are starting to find out what exactly being a consort means for Stark now. With all that they have been through their relationship continues to grow stronger on the Isle, but they aren’t quite ready to go back to the real world. Though everything in the real world is not quite as wonderful as it is on the Isle.

Back at school Stevie Rae, Aphrodite and everyone else are dealing with a lot of things from death of friends and families to the school reopening. Neferet is back in charge and is getting more and more powerful every day because there is no evidence of all the wrong she has done, and Kalona has a plan to get his powers back.
So much is happening in the next book of this series. Awakened is once again another book that really grabbed my attention the whole entire time of reading it. If you got bored somewhere around book 6 or 7 keep going!! They really pick and more and more is adding on. I really enjoyed every minute of it and would definitely recommend it to everyone and to keep going with the readings!

Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast (House of NIght Series 7)

Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast starts off exactly where we left off with Zoey Redbird and her group of friends. Zoey has just witnessed the death of the love of her life by Kalona and in a spite of rage and defense, she throws all of her spirit energy at Kalona and in turn splits apart her soul. What would seem like death is not a true death, but a part of her does die inside. Zoey’s broken soul is then sent to a sort of purgatory in Nyx’s realm where it is up to her and Keith, who is actually dead, to try and help her get back. During this adventure in Nyx’s world, Stevie Rae is having to grow into her roll of a high priestess for the red fledglings and also into her feelings for the fallen Raven Mocker. While Stevie Rae and Zoey are doing what is needed for them, Aphrodite, Stark, and the “nerd herd” are doing everything possible to make sure Zoey’s spirit makes it back into her body safely, so that Zoey remains alive. If she doesn’t there is nothing but impending doom for the rest of the world.
In each of the students separate adventures each individual student is coming into their own strengths and finding out more about themselves than they could ever imagine. Stevie Rae is learning the importance of being a leader and how not always the best choice is the favored one. Aphrodite is learning that even though she is no longer a vampyre, her gifts are still with her as a prophetess of Nyx, and is learning how to further use those powers to do more. Stark is learning what it truly means to be a warrior for Zoey and how much sacrifice it’s going to take for someone he loves. The so-called “nerd herd” is using their talents of being able to work together to find out pertinent information to save Zoey. Last but not least, Keith. Though Keith is dead, and he knows it, he is still madly in love with Zoey to know that he has to make the ultimate sacrifice to help Zoey get back to where she needs to be.
Though I believe somewhere in the middle of the series before this one the books kind of fell off, but the need to keep reading them was still there. This one really picked it back up for me. It could also have been that I took a break from them instead of reading one a week. This book, Burned,  got back to the true meaning of young people doing extraordinary things to help out others and I was really excited that I picked it up again. I definitely recommend people to keep reading them because they keep getting better and better and I will do my best to continue to read them as well.
