The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones Movie vs. Book
I’m not going to lie, I was kind of sad after I left the movies. I absolutely loved everyone of these books, which you know if you read my posts, but I was bored by the movie. I think they did some great things like the way the demons looked and the way the institute looked. I especially appreciated that the werewolves truly turned into werewolves and not half men creatures. I wasn’t thrilled with who Magnus Bane was played by because I expected him to be so much more, so much…extra. Instead he was flat, and the only interesting thing he did was called Alec cute. Jace wasn’t cocky enough for me and he didn’t make his voice charismatic enough. I absolutely love Jamie Campbell Bower in Sweeny Todd, and like his performance in that so much more.
I like the way they brought the witch light to life, and how they made the Steeles different for different people. I also really appreciate that I felt like they stuck to the book really well, and nothing was added, or anything significant was taken out. I like how they made the buildings change when looking past the glamour. They did great when it came to the special effects, and making it all come together.
I waited so long to see this movie, and was so excited for it, and now I can’t say that I’m excited for it at all. I still recommend that you see it of course, but I wouldn’t have high hopes. Am I going to go see the rest of the movies as they come out. Well yeah, of course, and I do believe that they’ll get better as they go. I’m not sure if the movie is still in theaters, It’s probably not, but if it is I recommend you seeing it to support this growing franchise!!

Road Trip!
With my last year of undergrad starting it was time for me to take the road trip back up to Pittsburgh. When ever I start a trip, I always try and think of what books can I bring. With a twelve hour road trip, I knew I was going to need to work on something. On this trip I brought both of JK Rowling’s new books, the non Harry Potter ones, but I didn’t get very far. I ended up sleeping most of the time, which isn’t bad. I know some people say that can’t read in the car because it makes them sick. I know for me it’s a great way to pass the time. You get lost in the world of the book and then next thing you know it’s been a few hours and it’s time for you to drive again. I never got into the audio book thing. Maybe it’s because I’m a visual person and I would zone out of the book and miss a few pages. I don’t know. What do you do for road trips?! Until Next time,

E-Reader vs. Real Books
I think that I’ve probably done a post like this before, but the other night I was reading a book in bed, instead of reading on my iPad. I know woe is me reading a book instead of an iPad, but the problem I was having was the book was rather large!! (I was reading Dan Brown’s Inferno and Sarah Dessen’s The Moon and More) It was hard for me to hold the book and get comfortable in bed.
School makes me want to read less….
With the large amount of reading that I have had to do for school this year, I’ve actually resorted to thumbing through magazines to do something different. Now, I did not read magazines through out high school, and just started to indulge in them in college. I now am a subscriber to three magazines I believe. The only problem with that is, that I now have all of these magazines around my room, unread, because I don’t even have time for those! No wonder my brain is fried without any type of creative or imaginary things running rampant through it. I mean it’s not crazy to want to lose yourself into a different world right? To just take a break from everything that is around you and escape without the cost of a vacation… that’s okay right?
