City of Lost Souls (Mortal Instruments), Cassandra Clare

IT’S THE FINAL COUNT DOWN!!! (Yes I know the song is now stuck in your head.

It’s official Jace has gone off the deep end and Clary only know one thing. How to love Jace. Oh, and that she has a crazy brother who has a plan to dominate the world but doesn’t have a definitive name.. is it Sebastian or is it Jonathan. He doesn’t even know.  Jordan and Maia are finding themselves, Simon once again is trying to save the world by himself, and Alec and Magnus need to get some relationship counseling. But seriously that’s the whole book in a nutshell. I don’t want to say too much, but through all this Clare has me captivated reading City of Lost Souls the whole time.
Of course I loved this book. Who wouldn’t love the last one? If you’ve made it this far loving every step you’re going to love the las step as well. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone, but you have to read the first 4 first. I’ve said so much about the last 4 that I think you all understand my slight obsession. So please until next time,

Awakened (House of Night Series book 8), P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast

Zoey and Stark are back from the Realm of Nyx and they are starting to find out what exactly being a consort means for Stark now. With all that they have been through their relationship continues to grow stronger on the Isle, but they aren’t quite ready to go back to the real world. Though everything in the real world is not quite as wonderful as it is on the Isle.

Back at school Stevie Rae, Aphrodite and everyone else are dealing with a lot of things from death of friends and families to the school reopening. Neferet is back in charge and is getting more and more powerful every day because there is no evidence of all the wrong she has done, and Kalona has a plan to get his powers back.
So much is happening in the next book of this series. Awakened is once again another book that really grabbed my attention the whole entire time of reading it. If you got bored somewhere around book 6 or 7 keep going!! They really pick and more and more is adding on. I really enjoyed every minute of it and would definitely recommend it to everyone and to keep going with the readings!

City of Fallen Angels, Cassandra Clare

Of course Cassandra Clare has continued to make this series everything that i can hope for and plain continuing to read these, even as school quickly approaches. City of Fallen Angels is once again tantalizing and filled with romance and twists. If you haven’t read the first three check out City of BonesCity of Ashes, and City of Glass posts by clicking on the title.

Saving the world once again from destruction, you would think everything would be all smiles for Clary and Jace, and it starts out just as that for those two. Clary gets to start Shadowhunter training with Jace and others under strict rules by Clary’s mother, Joscelin. While Clary gets to learn how to defend herself and learn more about being a Shadowhunter, Joscelin is finally planning her wedding with Luke, the love of each of their lives.

It’s not soon after that everything seems great, that things start going down hill. First a member of each clan of downworlders is found dead and it is up to the Shadowhunters to figure out what is happening. Then in the love smitten world of Jace and Clary, Jace starts acting weird again towards Clary and tries to “fix” everything by himself without talking to Clary.
Simon on the other side of things is having to learn how to deal with the mark of Cane, Clary gave him. He is also finding out that his mom is suspicious of the way he has been acting recently and is close to finding out his secret. Simon is also learning that he is a hot/ feared commodity among the vampire world and that everyone wants him in some way, shape, or form.
Of course I absolutely loved this book. I could not put this book down at all, I had to keep reading it because of the suspense, the romance, and the mysteries that the characters added to the book with their relationships to one another. Also the Cassandra Clare introduced some new and very important characters to this story as well. If you haven’t started this series yet, you need to get on it. You won’t be able to put it down and you will love every last minute of it. Until next time,

Miscellaneous Reading

So… I love to do other than things than just reading books, and I like to read other things than read books. I also love to read music as well being an old choir nerd with Atlanta Young Singers. This weekend/week we will be at our annual camp at Camp Woodmont where our wonderfully talented campers and singers will be practicing their music for the upcoming season, bonding with each other, and having a lot of fun with their counselors (aka me lol) in awesome activities. This year I’m helping our fantabulous (wow my redline spell checker didn’t come up for that word) director in rehearsals to help with the kids learning their music. This year somehow we are singing songs that I did not sing in my time as a singer, so that means the few days I have before camp I need to learn some music.

Now most people who read this will think that it’s a church choir or a school choir well this type of choir is nothing like that. This choir is how I describe it, a private choir. Atlanta Young Singers (AYS), has children from different schools from all around Atlanta who audition to be apart of this choir. The ages range from about 3rd – 12th grade and the singers always take me buy surprise of how amazing they are when I return to their concerts, and I was a part of the choir! These talented young singers also go on a tour every summer to a different part of the globe. Yes I said globe. Some of the past tours include, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and Spain. Don’t worry they do travel to the United States on occasion, like this summer. This summer they went to the World Choir Games, where their Treble Concert Choir and Youth Chorale choir won Gold Awards at.
Growing up I absolutely loved this choir. It provided some place for me to go and express myself through song and where I met my best friends for the rest of my life. I learned about so many different cultures, how to read different languages, and how to truly appreciate what it takes to be in what I would like to think of as semi-professional choir. I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.
If you know of any children who love to sing, and would like a fun challenge, in the age groups I mentioned, they hold auditions through out the year, and I would contact the office to set one up. This choir will help change your life in so many positive ways.

City of Glass (Mortal Instruments), Cassandra Clare

Well Cassandra Clare continues to amaze and entice me with the next Mortal Instruments book, City of Glass. If you haven’t read the first two books City of Bones and City of Ashes click on the titles to read my posts! Clary and Jace are no ordinary people and they’re starting to figure exactly what that means. After the fight between Valentine and his demonic army, and the Shadowhunters, everyone finally understands that Valentine truly is back, and he is plotting his ride to the top. In order to try and get things solved and accomplished Jace and the Lightwoods are heading to Alacante to try and get the Clave’s help. Clary of course wants to go as well because she has never seen Alacante, but Jace tries to do everything in his power to keep Clary from there for her own safety…well so he says.
Clary being Clary she finds away for her and Luke to get there so that she can find the way to save her mother.

Once there as usual when it comes to Clary and Jace, all hell breaks loose and it is up to those two to make everything right again. Along the way they find out more about themselves and about Valentine.

As usual I absolutely love this series!!! I cannot wait to read the next two books and the prequel series Infernal Devices. I honestly don’t have much else to say other than READ THESE BOOKS!!!
